BeamNG.drive sends telemetry over UDP using the OutGauge protocol, and the configuration lives in SimHub rather than in the game — SimHub's Game Configuration dialog sets BeamNG up automatically and tells you when it has worked. The default telemetry mode is “Outgauge + motionSim” on UDP port 63392. Because it is UDP, only one application can read that port at a time, which is why the same dialog offers UDP forwarding to a second port.
BeamNG is unusual in this list: it is a physics sandbox rather than a racing sim, and what makes it worth connecting to SimHub is not lap times.
How it works
UDP, via the OutGauge protocol — an older, widely supported telemetry format that originated with Live For Speed and has been adopted by several games since.
OutGauge is a compact format, which means it carries less than a purpose-built modern telemetry API would. You get the core values — speed, RPM, gear, fuel, warning lights — rather than a full physics dump.
As with all UDP, only one application can receive the stream at a time.
Setting it up
Open BeamNG's configuration in SimHub
Not in the game. SimHub keeps a Game Configuration dialog per title, with a Telemetry tab and a Launcher action tab.
Check the telemetry mode
Outgauge + motionSim is the default and is what you want. OutGauge is a compact protocol that originated with Live For Speed; the motionSim half adds the data a motion rig needs.
Note the UDP port
63392 by default. You only need to change it if something else on the machine already has that port.
Let SimHub configure the game
Under Automatic Game configuration, SimHub writes BeamNG's side for you and reports back — Game is properly configured is the confirmation. If it does not appear, the same panel links to manual instructions.
Drive something
Any vehicle, any map. Values should appear immediately.

BeamNG gotchas
- OutGauge is off by default, and it is not called "telemetry" in the options, which is why people miss it.
- OutGauge is a limited format. Expect the core values rather than the detailed physics BeamNG is famous for. That is a property of the protocol, not of SimHub.
- The vehicle range is extraordinary — buses, trucks, road cars, race cars, and things that are not vehicles at all. Percentage-based shift lights are essential.
- Damage and crash states are not part of what OutGauge carries, which is a shame given what BeamNG is for.
- Only one app gets the stream.
What works well here
BeamNG's soft-body physics produce the most convincing surface and impact behaviour of anything on this list, and where those reach the telemetry, haptics are excellent — driving a rough surface in BeamNG with well-tuned shakers is one of the better demonstrations of why tactile feedback is worth having.
The limitation is what OutGauge carries. You have the core values to work with rather than a rich physics feed, so effects built on speed, RPM and gear work well and anything needing detailed suspension or slip data has less to draw on.
For dashboards, BeamNG is a good case for something minimal — speed, gear, fuel — since there is no session, no lap and no position to display in most of what people do in it.
